Benjamin Gettinger primarily practices in the areas of divorce and
family law and criminal defense. As part of his family law practice, he
provides legal advice on family law matters related to marriage,
divorce, civil unions, prenuptial agreements, custody, adoption and
termination of parental rights. As part of his criminal defense
practice, he represents individual and corporate clients in all criminal
matters and related regulatory proceedings in state, federal and
administrative courts. In addition, Mr. Gettinger advises
municipalities, police officers and politicians on a variety of issues,
including labor and employment disputes, Freedom of Information Act
requests and general litigation matters.
Prior to joining Lynch, Traub, Keefe & Errante, Mr. Gettinger served as
a law clerk to the Honorable Francis X. Hennessy of the Connecticut
Appellate Court. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the
University of Connecticut and his Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from
Quinnipiac University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Gettinger
served as the Managing Editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review.
Mr. Gettinger has been named a Super Lawyer Rising Star by Connecticut
Magazine. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, New Haven
County Bar Association, Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association
and Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Gettinger is also on the
Executive Committee of the Criminal Law Section of the Connecticut Bar
Association.
