Defense Judgment in Civil Rights Action Against Municipality Board of Education and Board Members

As counsel for a municipality's board of education and its members, partner Nancy Fitzpatrick Myers secured the dismissal of a civil rights action brought in federal court. The lawsuit was filed by a former high school athletic coach who challenged the manner in which her contract was terminated. Prior to trial, Attorney Myers argued that the evidence was not sufficient to send the claims to a jury. The Court agreed and dismissed all claims against the defendants.
