Former North Haven Football Player Files Lawsuit Against Town and School

BREAKING: A former North Haven High School football player is suing the town and school officials, claiming he was scapegoated for years of violent hazing on the varsity team.

The lawsuit alleges that “John Doe,” a junior in 2023, was brutally beaten during a long-standing locker room ritual involving a plastic “spank stick”—a tradition reportedly passed down for years. Despite being a victim, he was the only student punished after a teammate reported an incident involving the stick. He was suspended, vilified, and ultimately forced to leave the school.

Attorney Rosalie Louis stated:
“The plaintiff in this case was beaten in the locker room until he bled. Instead of being treated like a victim, he was used as a scapegoat to cover up years of hazing. He was vilified in the press, on the football team, and in school. As role models, the school administration and coaching staff should be ashamed of the way they treated this student.”

The suit names the superintendent, principal, athletic director, coach, and others—accusing them of negligence and a cover-up that allowed a culture of abuse to persist.
