Hugh F. Keefe Honored with Commemorative Street Naming at New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade
New Haven, March 17, 2026 – During this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New Haven, the corner of Chapel Street and Church Street was honorably renamed in tribute to Hugh F. Keefe and Anne D. Hines, recognizing their lasting contributions to the New Haven community and the legal profession.
The honorary street naming served as a meaningful tribute to Hugh F. Keefe’s legacy and the profound impact he had throughout his life and career. For generations, the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in partnership with the City of New Haven, has renamed streets near City Hall during the parade to honor individuals who have positively served the Greater New Haven Irish community. This year’s recognition reflected the deep respect and admiration held for Hugh’s life, character, and enduring contributions.
Hugh devoted his entire legal career to one firm—Lynch, Traub, Keefe & Errante in New Haven—where he became known as one of Connecticut’s most recognized and formidable trial lawyers. He thrived in the courtroom, not in pursuit of fame or fortune, but out of a genuine love for the practice of law and the pursuit of justice.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Hugh was deeply devoted to his family and the community he loved. Those who knew Hugh understood that beneath his reputation as a fierce courtroom advocate was a man defined by loyalty, warmth, and deep personal connections. His presence in New Haven—both professionally and personally—left an immeasurable mark on the city and the people who had the privilege of knowing him.
At LTKE Law, we are deeply proud to see Hugh F. Keefe’s legacy recognized in such a meaningful way. His dedication to the law, his passion for justice, and his commitment to the New Haven community continue to inspire our firm every day. The honorary street naming stands as a lasting reminder of the extraordinary life he lived and the impact he made on the profession, the community, and all those fortunate enough to work alongside him.
